Dell Unveil G5 Gaming Laptop with AMD CPU and GPU

CES 2020 is properly underway now, with Dell revealing the launch of their brand new G5 15 Special Edition gaming laptop. This is the latest model in the G Series, and it looks like its going to be available to buy sooner than you might think…

Dell G5 15 SE laptop specifications

This model is the first Dell G Series laptop to feature a 15.6 inch FHD display panel, along with an AMD Ryzen 4000 H-Series processor and an AMD Radeon RX 5600M graphics chip.

These two AMD chips should really well together and will feature AMD’s newly announced SmartShift technology. The SmartShift technology aims to boost gaming performance by up to 10 to 12% by intelligently shifting power between the CPU and GPU as and when needed.

This laptop comes with an interesting Game Shift macro key feature. This allows for a user to do a quick launch of game ready settings to enhance gaming performance and improve graphics for a fully immersive gaming experience with minimal effort.

Storage capabilities will let you add up to 1 TB of PCIe M.2 SSD and 2 TB 5400 RPM HDD storage.

How much will the Dell G5 be and where can I buy one?

The Dell G5 laptop will be available soon enough, with a release window of April 2020. We also have a price; the Dell G5 15 Special Edition gaming laptop will be $799.99.

This marks the laptop as a fairly reasonably priced option for gaming for those who might not be looking to spend a fortune but aren’t quite ready to settle for a budget gaming laptop build. For the price, you should see an impressively smooth gameplay experience, with good graphics and no lag in the performance when running high-spec titles – especially considering the brand new tech like SmartShift and Game Shift that are going to be included in the new laptop.
