We’ve been waiting for this day for a long time, and the Diablo 4 beta is nearly upon us finally. However, although the countdown has already begun, some fans just cannot wait that long. That’s where the ‘New Zealand trick’ comes in.
This tactic allows you to potentially access titles at the midnight launch for each region, so a country like New Zealand would obviously experience midnight first. It’s not always available, however, games like Modern Warfare 2 blocked this feature.
There have been times in the past that this has worked before, however does this work for Diablo 4 beta, and if so, what are the risks associated with it? Here’s everything you need to know.

Does the New Zealand trick work for Diablo 4 beta?
As far as we’re aware, the game will be having a global simultaneous release for everyone, everywhere. As we can see in the open beta release globe below, for example, the PDT 9AM release coincides with the 4PM GMT release in the UK.
This should mean that unfortunately, for fans who’re looking to get even earlier access to the beta, or at least get as many hours out of this weekend’s beta as possible, will not be able to.
However, in better news, no one will be getting a head start, all players will be dropped into the game simultaneously.
We’re so excited for this release, and with the timer at the time of writing this currently with 6 hours to go, the Diablo 4 beta New Zealand trick won’t even save you that much time. Check out the Diablo 4 open beta countdown timer here.
