Kim is waiting (On Twitter?). Disco Elysium finally comes to Xbox Series X/S on October 12th, with a physical release arriving November 9th. Funnily enough, this is the same date Disco Elysium drops on Nintendo Switch digitally too.

For those out of the loop, Disco Elysium has been an elusive release on consoles, sticking to PC and Mac releases back in 2019 before making its grand console debut with The Final Cut on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Google Stadia in March 2021. Now that it’s coming to Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X/S, it has completed the trifecta that is the ninth generation of home consoles.

What Is Disco Elysium – The Final Cut?

Developed by ZA/UM, Disco Elysium is a role-playing game with a unique grim dark oil painting aesthetic. Taking place in a post-war damaged city, players take control of an Amnesiac detective who gains access to some seriously trippy abilities. Said abilities form the basis of the game’s detective, infinity-engine-inspired gameplay.

It’s had a solid amount of praise!

Featuring zero combat sequences and favoring skill checks and dialogue trees, players can expect a truly unique experience with the Final Cut release of Disco Elysium. The 24 skills that players will utilize represent different aspects of the protagonist, putting a serious focus on suppressing or supporting said traits/abilities.

Disco Elysium has earned multiple awards since its release in 2019, kicking off by winning four ‘The Game Awards’ in 2019 for best narrative, best independent game, best role-playing game, and fresh indie game.
