Techland, the developers behind the Dying Light series, has announced that Dying Light 2 is delayed. It is, of course, not the only major triple-A game intended for late 2021 get a delay, with Total Warhammer 3 getting pushed back to 2022 too this week.
Dying Light 2 Delayed
The Dying Light 2 delayed announcement is a bit of a shock. The announcement came from Twitter towards the latter half of the day for the Polish developer. Dying Light 2 has been getting a lot of attention recently, with the game making appearances at Gamescom, E3 and other major gaming events in 2021.
In a recent statement on Twitter, Techland said the Dying Light 2 is very much nearing the end of the production line. The game is currently complete, but the developers are still actively playtesting the game to make sure it is 100% ready for launch. However, the game is not yet 100% bug-free, optimized, or polished to Techland’s standards. Techland mentioned they want to be transparent, and here they say that the game is not yet ready for the public. Kudos to them I guess – no one wants another Cyberpunk 2077 launch.

Dying Light 2 Release Date
The Dying Light 2 delay comes after its intended release date for December 7 2021, is now getting pushed back an extra two months, making its new Dying Light 2 release date February 4th, 2022.
Fortunately for us, Dying Light 2 will still make a public appearance in the next month or so. Techland has revealed that Press and Content Creators will be able to get their hands on Dying Light 2 before its release date. You should be able to see some of the gameplay for both the PC and console versions of the game through October, in time for Halloween zombie goodness – how spooky.
If you don’t want to wait for new gameplay snippets, Techland showed off the gameplay at Gamescom (which looks rather polished, by the way). The trailer for Dying Light 2 highlights the game’s zombie parkour mechanics, along with a greater look at the city, zombies and other unique gameplay features. Considering the Dying Light 2 trailer, it is rather surprising that Dying Light 2 is delayed, but here we are.
Once again, the Dying Light 2 delayed announcement changes the Dying Light 2 Release Date to February 4 2022. Here’s to hoping it pays off for Techland and gamers alike.
