eFootball 2023 is out now!

efootball 2023

Finally after a long period of anticipation we can finally get our hands on eFootball 2023 after it just went live on the 25th of August.

Of course we already knew we would have to wait until 2023 before we saw the Master League game mode make its debut in the game. So if you’re firing up eFootball 2023 for that, then sadly today isn’t the day.

Season 1 is now out and the focus will be on “New Player Types and Licenses”. These seasons will be introduced throughout the life of the game.

The new players types are Epic and Highlight players. eFootball has stated they hope these two new players will help add a more individualism in team-building. Two examples of Epic players are Wesley Sneijder and Clarence Seedorf. Special players will go live on the 01/09/2022.

This will likely focus on the new teams that are coming to the game. Konami have stated that not all of the new strips will come to the game straightaway, but will be set to come later down the line.

What’s in eFootball Update v2.0.0

A lot of the work done in this new update, excluding the new kits and player updates, is fixing bugs. Please find below a list of fixes that have come to the game:

  • Crashing unexpectedly due to error.
  • A player will often take the ball down on their chest before shooting first time from a cross.
  • Kick feints not working effectively
  • Pick up command not working for goalkeepers
  • Lighting flickering in the roof of certain grounds in the game.

These are just some of the changes, in a list of over thirty that came with the new update. In order to check out all the new updates check your mail on the eFootball Home Screen.

The future of eFootball

efootball 2022

Konami, the developer of eFootball, has been very busy securing new exclusivity deals, with Inter Milan signing on from 2024. This is a multi-year deal and will see their stadium and kits will be exclusively in eFootball.

The latest news is that Liga MX (The Mexican League) will be joining eFootball exclusively. This is a big move from Konami, successfully bringing a whole licensed league to the game and a big hit to any of their competition who now can’t use this league going forward.

The French National team have also signed on to be in the game, although it is still unknown if this is exclusively.

Inter Milan joining the game, sees them build on the previous exclusivity deals signed with Napoli and Atalanta. They will be joining eFootball in time for the 2022/23 season. All three of these teams compete in the Italian Serie A.

Konami have also just announced on the 22/08/22 that A.C. Milan will be coming to eFootball 2023. This is just another Serie A side coming to the eFootball as Konami continues to build out the league.

eFootball 2022: Update 1.1.4

The latest patch for eFootball 2022 has gone live and the main improvement that has been made, on the console version, is responsiveness of players. They have also enhanced and improved the AI.

The mobile version now was also updated with “Friend Match” added to the game as well as new control schemes.

Going forward Konami have stated they wish to do a survey with players to find out how they feel, and what they believe can be improved about eFootball. This will be a great opportunity to voice any of their concerns, and for them to give any feedback they have about the game.

We should expect another patch soon for the console version eFootball. The mobile edition of eFootball had a patch on the 28th of July. Or at least a minor update just to make all the squad changes and kit changes, as we build up to the new season.

eFootball: The Community

Although the community is clearly very excited for what Season 1 of eFootball 2023 has in store

There is also concern within the eFootball community, regarding censorship. On Reddit new threads about the aforementioned issues are often difficult to find, with people wondering if they’re being muted or blocked.

Certain in-game campaigns have been suspended in eFootball indefinitely. According to the eFootball Twitter account they are hoping to resume them soon.

Hopefully, for the sake of the those who play eFootball, Konami will clear this issue up as we get closer to release.

More news will follow on eFootball 2023 as it breaks.
