Exophobia is an upcoming FPS game that seems to be equal parts boomer-shooter and matroidvania title with a really unique art style to it. Since the demo launched in the Summer of 2020, many folks have been excited to get their hands on the full version of the game.

Well, the wait is almost over with Exophobia releasing in only a few short months, and we’ve got all the juicy release details for you down below.

Exophobia Release Date

One of the first major gameplay reveals for Exophobia was during the Steam Game Festival 2020 when a demo for the title was made playable to anyone with a Steam account.

Since then, there have been numerous updates, from developer Q&A sessions, to live streams, but the important info is when the game actually releases. While we don’t have a specific date yet, we do know that the game will drop at some point during April 2022.

Exophobia Trailer

Exophobia looks to be a hardcore FPS in every sense of the word. If you check out the Steam page then you’ll see that it has the tag ‘unforgiving’ which is a sure sign that the developer has intentionally made the same as hard as possible.

It’s also a Metroidvania game, which means there’s probably going to be a lot of exploration involved. Of course, the main thing you do in the game is run around and shoot enemies with your pixel art weaponry, and it does look like a lot of fun.

You can check out the gameplay trailer below to see what we mean and if you decide you want to get the game when it releases you should think about wishlisting it on Steam.
