Yesterday we brought you news of a leak surrounding the Zen 3 Ryzen 9 5900X and impressive potential clock speeds.

It seems the AMD ship is leaking more than a rusty old boat at the moment as news is reaching the internet that an early set of benchmarks for the Ryzen 7 5800X 8 core, 16 thread Zen 3 CPUT indicates that it might be faster than Intel’s fastest 10th gen gaming CPU, the Cire i9-10900K.

The performance test leaked out in the Ashes of the Singularity database, and if verified in the coming weeks shows AMD will once again be at the forefront when it comes to performance and cost.

So far then leaks around the two “Vermeer” chips have emerged, and these are the only ones confirmed for the October 8th launch so far.

It’s going to be an interesting few days if the benchmark leaks keep coming through at this rate.

This chip is earmarked as a successor to the Ryzen 7 3800X and all rumors suggest it will come in at a similar price point to its older sibling, so we could expect to see it as low as the $350 mark which would set it up to be great value for money if it can reach these performance levels across the board.

Time will tell as always, but Intel might be preparing for some rough results in the run-up to launch.
