First look at a delidded Intel Core Ultra 200S processor just surfaced on X, with a user sharing pictures and videos of the CPU without its IHS.
A few weeks back, Intel launched its Core Ultra 200S codenamed Arrow Lake-S series processors. These upcoming next-gen CPUs will be led by the flagship Ultra 9 285K which is planned to hit shelves on October 24th. However, samples of the Core Ultra 200S processors have already begun shipping to reviewers and enthusiasts, including Madness, who is known for his passion for delidding hardware components. For those who aren’t aware, delidding is the process of removing the protective lid off of the metal integrated heat spreader (IHS), to reduce CPU temperatures, especially for overclocking.

Madness shared on X the first look at a delidded Intel Core Ultra 200S processor, captioning it, “I just can’t stop myself from delidding stuff“. The user included two pictures and a full one-minute video showcasing the unknown processor without its IHS from all sides and angles. We call it “unknown” because Madness hasn’t confirmed the exact model, and we can’t make a guess since most upcoming Arrow Lake S processors are based on a similar tile configuration (8 Performance + 16 Efficient cores / 4 Xe cores).

With that said, one picture did show us the next-gen motherboard Madness paired with the Intel Core Ultra 200S processor. The motherboard appears to be the ASRock Z890 Taichi OCF, which we recently reviewed as the first high-end overclocking board to support memory speeds of up to 10,133 MT/s. The Taichi OCF is expected to be released alongside the Intel Core Ultra 200S on October 24th and we are eager to what overclocking enthusiasts do with them.
