Epic Games have announced a new Fortnite event meant to encourage friends to play together with special item rewards, called Best Friendzy. It will run from August 31, 2021 until September 12, 2021, finishing at 21:00 BST / 13:00 PST / 22:00 PM CEST.
If you want to be eligible for the Best Friendzy Fortnite event rewards, you should really log in to the Best Friendzy Tracker with your Epic account. Without doing that, you’ll only be eligible for item rewards if you play enough matches with a friend that has done it instead.
It’s free to activate on your account, so there’s really no reason you shouldn’t.
When registered, the event works like this:
You can also set a “peak” time for play, where you’ll receive 3 points for every minute played with a friend. Points are tracked on a friendship by friendship basis, so you’ll have a separate your counter with each friend you play with.
Don’t worry if your points don’t show up immediately, as they can take up to 30 minutes to show up on your Fortnite account.
Players that take part in Best Friendzy can earn up to four special in-game item rewards.
We suggest that if you’re a player dedicated to going for the pickaxe, you make sure to set your time for an hour when you know you and your friend will be most available. Without taking advantage of the points multiplier, getting 50 points will require 8 hours and 30 minutes of online social time spent on Fortnite Island, without factoring in matchmaking. Blimey.
