Fortnite Concept Royale is back, and applications are open to budding designers now, ahead of October’s Halloween season.
Fortnite Concept Royale is a regular “contest”, of sorts, in which Epic Games reaches out to the Fortnite creator community. Usually themed around an event, Concept Royale encourages fans to submit their concept designs to Epic Games in order to be featured as an in-game Outfit in the future. This time, it’s all about Fortnitemares.
Fortnitemares 2022 confirmed in Concept Royale
Fortnitemares will take place once again this Halloween 2022. The annual Fortnite event features spooky new in-game events and questlines, scarily good cosmetic items, and hauntingly addictive LTMs. And, with the theme of the new Concept Royale being Fortnitemares, we can safely assume that the event will go ahead again in 2022.
Epic Games are asking for “Halloween-themed designs” for the current bout of Concept Royale, though they haven’t specified anything more detailed than that. As such, there’s no telling if there’s a theme or not, but It will likely tie in to the Fortnite storyline at the time. Fortnitemares 2021 featured The Cube Queen, feeding into the Kevin the Cube storyline, while also featuring Cube Monsters in the Horde Rush LTM. However, there was also the Item Shop crossover with Universal Monsters, featuring well-known characters like Frankenstein’s Monster and the Bride of Frankenstein.
The last Concept Royale took place in 2021, and the two winners’ wintery designs appeared in the Fortnite Item Shop in December 2021.
How to submit to Concept Royale
Participants must be older than 13 to submit designs to Concept Royale, but if you meet that requirement, it’s pretty simple to enter. Just upload your designs to Twitter or Instagram, and use the hashtag #ConceptRoyaleContest2022. Two winners will be picked to see their designs featured in the Fortnite Item Shop in October 2022, and will also receive $2,500.
