The start of Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2: Resistance brought with it a surprising change – building has been removed from the main Battle Royale mode. And leakers now suspect that Fortnite’s no-build mechanic may stay.

While the decision to remove building from Fortnite had long been rumored, no one really expected it to be taken away from the main Battle Royale mode. It was instead thought that a “no-build mode” LTM would be brought in. Instead, Donald Mustard and the team went in and wrote the removal of building into Fortnite lore, and no doubt you’ll have already started embarking on in-game challenges to bring building back. Surprisingly, however, the change has been a hit with a lot of players, and now it may be here to stay.

Fortnite No-Building Modes

Don’t worry if you’re a fan of building in Fortnite, though. While leakers have found that the lack of building may stay in the Battle Royale, it will now be in the form of its own No-Building mode. Building will, as the current storyline and Rebuilding Challenges suggest, return to the main Battle Royale modes. When it does, Fortnite leaker Hypex thinks No-Building modes will move in instead…

This does seem to suggest that no-building will remain in one form or another. And this is probably the best way to do it due to its mixed response. The removal of building has widely been met with positivity, and some suggest it is only sweats who want building back. Meanwhile, it could – rightly – be considered that building is one of, if not the only thing, that separates Fortnite from other Battle Royale shooter competition. Either way, having both options available in some way seems like the best option for Epic Games to take.

What do you think? And how are you getting on without building as part of Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2: Resistance? Start the debate down in the comments below.
