Google I/O rumors – Android 14

The Android 14 release date is still sometime away, but we’ve already seen the first two Android 14 Developer Previews, and Google almost always uses the I/O event as an opportunity to show off the features of their next Android OS. We can expect to see more info than we already know about upcoming features an applications within the mobile operating system.

Google I/O rumors – Google A.I. & Google Bard

Google Bard is the company’s response to ChatGPT. Although users have been able to sign up to the Google Bard Beta as of the 21st march, 2023, we expect to see a bit of a focus on this tech during the I/O presentation.

Besides Bard, we expect to see some discussion of other AI applications. Given that Samsung and other brands are thinking about switching from Google to Microsoft’s Bing search engine, due to its adoption of the latest Chat GPT AI software, Google are very keen to develop their own AI-powered search technology, and have apparently diverted staff to accelerate its development.

‘Project Magi’ as the Google search AI program is called, may be unveiled at Google I/O according to the Wall Street Journal, and would mark the biggest update to Google Search in years.

Google I/O rumors – Pixel 7a

Although we don’t yet know the Google Pixel 7a release date, it’s strong suspected that this affordable smartphone will make its first public appearance at the Google I/O 2023 event and could be available to order immediately afterwards. The Google Pixel Watch 2 release date is still thought to be some time away (possibly sometime in Q4 2023) but we may see some info on this upcoming smartwatch at the event.
