Hot on the heels of the release of the Google Pixel 6, the big Alphabet business looks to continue to expand its mobile division by delving into the world of foldable devices, which we’ve previously seen in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Flip series, in addition to Motorola’s poor attempt to capitalize on the past with a new Razr phone a few years ago. Regardless, it looks like foldable phones are here to stay, and this new leak reveals oodles of information that we didn’t know before.
Google Pixel Fold leaked specifications
According to Twitter user and reliable leaker @Shadow_Leak, who has previously corroborated stories on leaks from Microsoft with the Surface Pro 8 ahead of its reveal, means that we could be looking at some of the first-ever confirmed specifications for the unannounced handset.
- 7.6-inch LTPO OLED 120HZ Inner Display
- Self-Developed Tensor Chip
- 12GB of RAM
- Android 12 OS
With such cutting-edge specifications, this system looks to be more of a competitior to something such as an iPad rather than a mobile phone. Boasting these top-end specs is something that the Pixel line has always tried to shy away from, but now we might see them pushing up the power with their sophomore attempt at making their own silicon with a second-generation chip.
Google Pixel Fold leaked benchmarks
The image we’ve seen says that the Google Pixel Fold has gone through Geekbench 4, with astonishing results.
- Single core score: 4851
- Multi core score: 11442
Compared to the Google Pixel 6, this is astonishingly high, which means that it could be being powered by a brand-new Google Tensor chip that we’ve not yet seen before, but is proven to indeed exist already. It could be aided by new Silicon and a new OS working in tandem to bring forth these results, which make us very excited for the future of the Pixel line.
