An exciting new development from the AI team at Google, so what is the Google Workspace Duet AI release date? First of all, you may be wondering what the Duet AI is. This AI is all about helping you out in Google Workspace, which is a cloud-based platform for storing files, managing data, and collaborating with others.

AI works with you to make using the platform easier and boost productivity. Google Bard is an example of this already, which has kicked off Google’s development into artificial intelligence.

We’ve already seen Microsoft jump into the world of an AI assistant with their Copilot AI for Microsoft 365. From the name alone you can figure out that Duet AI is an equivalent to Copilot, except working with Google Workspace instead of the 365 platform.

So what about that Google Workspace Duet AI release date? Well, following the Google I/O presentation which happened on May 10th 2023, some early features of Duet AI for Google Cloud are available now for limited users. If you want to sign up, you can click here to join Google Cloud’s AI Trusted Tester Program. There is no word yet on a wider release although the official Google website states this will be ‘very soon’. When it comes to a prediction for a full public release, we can estimate sometime during Q3 this year.

Google Workspace Labs sign up

As mentioned prior, you can sign up to Google Workspace Labs here. Right now, it seems to be locked to ‘select organizations’ for testing. The AI-assisted writing you’ll see in Google Docs and Gmail are ready to go, but the other features included are rolling out in the coming months.

Google Workspace Duet AI features

Google Workspace is built around a number of apps, many of which you may be familiar with. The AI integration means your workflow is more fluid and can act as a source of inspiration or simply somewhere to start. We’ve put together some of the headline features.

For example, Duet AI’s ‘Help me write’ feature is useful for both Gmail and Google Docs. This tool is also being brought to mobile. This probably familiar to you if you’ve used ChatGPT before. Type a simple request – such as ‘job description for textile designer’ and you’ll receive a pretty comprehensive response to edit and build upon.

Keeping with the theme, the ‘Help me organize’ feature means using Google Sheets can be less time-consuming. This AI prompt allows you to create schedules, rosters, and data quickly.

Creating images with AI is definitely interesting, and this integration allows you to do so in Google Slides. Presentations are made easier with original images exactly as you’d like them to look – from the mundane to the more surreal.

There are many more features included, within Google Meet too. You can discover all of this here.
