Good news for Halo fans, Halo 3 has just been announced for PC! Halo 3 will come out on PC as part of The Master Chief Collection on July 14th, 2020. This will be available on Steam or Xbox Game Pass for PC.

Halo 3 first came out in 2007 and continues the story from the previous two titles in the series.
For a bit of a refresh, the Xbox website lists the summary as: “Witness the Master Chief’s return to finish the fight between the Covenant, the Flood and the entire Human race in this dramatic, pulse-pounding conclusion of the original Halo trilogy.”
The fate of the galaxy is in your hands as the Master Chief returns to uncover an ancient secret. Hidden in the sands of Africa, this hidden secret could be the key to humanity’s salvation – or its destruction.
PC-Specific Features for Halo 3
Halo 3 has been fully optimized for PC so you’ll finally be able to play Halo 3 with a mouse and keyboard. Halo 3 will support up to 4K UHD resolution with 60 FPS for the best gaming experience. Ultrawide support and FOV customization will also be included as part of the range of PC-specific features.
Halo 3 comes with all 11 missions that fans will know and love from the 2007 Xbox 360 original title. Multiplayer features 24 maps and an updated progression system that other titles in The Master Chief Collection have already benefited from.
Overall, this will be the Halo title that you fell in love with all those years ago – but with some added improvements. Many people will want to pick this up just for the joy of playing an FPS with a mouse and keyboard. Unlike other titles, this is less of a remaster and more of an improved port. So, if you have a bit of a nostalgic itch, Halo 3 is a perfect way to scratch it.
The Master Chief Collection
The Master Chief Collection already has a combination of Halo titles under its belt and has been steadily making its way through the series. So, if you loved the classic Halo titles on Xbox, you can now play them on PC too.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC currently includes six games. Three of these are
currently playable at the moment and others are coming soon.
The three titles currently available on PC are:
- Halo: Reach
- Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
- Halo 2: Anniversary
The following titles are coming soon, but only Halo 3 has a firm release date so far:
