The Halo 3 server shutdown was sent out with a bang by the community

Goodnight, sweet prince. The plug has finally been pulled on the Halo 3, Halo 4, Reach and Halo Wars servers for Xbox 360. The servers for the original Xbox 360 Halo titles went down on January 13, and gamers were given a heads up beforehand. So, the gamers invested in the funeral of Halo 3 went online for one last hoo-rah with fellow marines, sending out Halo 3 Xbox 360 servers with a bang, just the way Johnson would have wanted.
Images of the Halo 3 servers going offline has finally come. Players have started posting post-mortem posts on sites such as Reddit, along with players sharing their favourite memories of Halo 3.
For me, Halo 3 was the game that I spent most of my 13-year-old life on. Forge on Foundry was certainly my home, as it was for many of my friends. The amount of fun Indiana Jones maps we made, Infected haunted house maps played, and of course, sharing great creations made that game special.
In fact, other staff at WePC loved it so much they made a montage of some of the awesome times back in the days of 2008, which we have linked here if you want to watch it.
It was not only special for us, but it was special for many others. The Halo 3 community has risen, sharing their final moments of games they got to play over the last few days. The Halo subreddit, for a matter of fact, is basically a tribute page to an emo band that broke up at this point. It was a great final send-off as the Halo 3 server shutdown time hit.
While the original Halo 3 server shutdown time has arrived, it is not the death of Halo 3 or Halo 4. Thankfully, the current generation of the Master Chief Collection still offers players the chance to jump in those games and play the multiplayer of those games. Moreso, many of the Halo 3 forge maps got saved before the impending doom of the Halo 3 Xbox 360 servers. So, if you’re still interested in the reincarnation of Halo 3 and relive those memories, they are not entirely out of the way for you.
