Hearthstone’s update 22.2 includes a massive Battlegrounds update, Duels changes, balance changes for Standard and Wild, and more. Mercenaries Village also got its first content update of 2022. The new update’s balance changes should finally bring an end to the Pirate Warrior meta which was the strongest deck in the game for the majority of 2021.

What’s New in Hearthstone Update 22.2?

The new update introduces Battlegrounds Buddies for the Battlegrounds game mode. A Battlegrounds Buddy is a special minion that’s unique to each Hero, designed to synergize with that Hero’s gameplan. The new buddies should help introduce more synergy for older heroes and balance out the power level.

The Training Grounds is a new space for your Village that allows your Mercenaries to passively gain experience as you do Bounties with your other Mercs, play other game modes, or even while you sleep! Just enter the Training Grounds, select a Mercenary you want to train, and leave them there for as long as you want.
