Hearthstone Update 23.2.2 is now live and it brings some important changes for Standard and Battlegrounds. Players who were expected changes to cards in Wild will be disappointed as we received no changes whatsoever from the Wild-exclusive card pool. The biggest losers of the new patch are undoubtedly Drek’Thar and Multi-Strike, which were two of the most popular cards in the previous meta.

Drek’Thar and Multi-Strike Nerfed

The old Drek’Thar Battlecry stated that if it costs more than every minion in your deck, summon 2 of them. The new updated version of Drek’thar will summon just one of those minions which is a massive nerf and it cuts down on the tempo that the legendary offers. Multi-Strike is also one of the most popular cards in the previous meta and it had its cost increased from 2 to 3. The card will continue to offer your hero +2 attack and let you attack an additional enemy minion.

Rogue Gets Massive Buffs

The Thief Rogue archetype got some interesting buffs with Tess Greymane getting a mana reduction from 8 to 7. Hench-Clan Burglar is now a 4/4 instead of a 4/3, which makes all the difference in the world as it can no longer die to cheap 2-cost spells. SI:7 Smuggler got the biggest buff as it now spawns 1 cost minions instead of 0 cost ones. The new battlecry reads “Summon a random 1-Cost minion. (Improved for each other SI:7 card you have played this game).”

Hero Changes in Tow for Battlegrounds

Fungalmancer Flurgl’s Gone Fishing hero power has been changed in the new update.  From its previous passive of “After you sell a minion, add a random Murloc to Bob’s Tavern.” it has been changed to “After you sell 2 minions, add a random Murloc to Bob’s Tavern.”

There are also some armor changes in the new update. Al’Akir, Galakrond, George the Fallen, and Malygos have been moved to Armor Tier 1. Death Speaker Blackthorn, Fungalmancer Flurgl, Ini Stormcoil, Lord Barov, Maiev Shadowsong, Queen Azshara, Rokara, and Tickatus have been moved to Armor Tier 2.
