Sometimes a game becomes such a viral success that it appears in the mainstream conscious almost out of nowhere. Hello Neighbor 2 is the sequel to one such game that went from indie game to pop culture sensation practically overnight. The question is, can the sequel keep the momentum going, or will this be the thing that stops people from caring about the franchise?
There’s a little bit of time left before we find out one way or the other. To keep yourself occupied in the meantime, you can check out all of the important release information that we’ve compiled for you down below.
Hello Neighbor 2 Release Date
This title originally went by a different name was the alpha version was released in 2019. Back then it was called Hello Guest and was about a security guard working at an amusement park that was stalked by a strange monster who you had to look out for as part of the mission.
Now we know that the game is actually Hello Neighbor 2, and has a storyline much more fitting with the original game’s. While it was initially tipped to release in 2021, we’ve since learned that the game will be coming out at some point during 2022.
Hello Neighbor 2 Trailer
So far, we know that Hello Neighbor 2 features the same suspicious neighbor character, Mr.Peterson, from the first title. We also know that this time around the main character is a journalist who is searching for information about the local spate of disappearances that have been occurring lately. He suspects Mr.Peterson and so begins to investigate him, including breaking into his house while he’s away.
The gameplay is mostly stealth-based, with you have to do your best to investigate Mr.Peterson’s house without being discovered by him. One of the most touted features of the new game is the fact that the AI is self-learning, meaning that as you play the game, it gets better and better at discovering what you’re up to, meaning you have to keep changing your tactics if you want to succeed.
