A few days ago, our very own Oskar bought us the news that Aliens-esque Hidden Deep was coming to scare the living daylights out of you on your PC and now the news is reaching us that you aren’t going to be safe on your console either with the Xbox, and even the Nintendo Switch set to get versions later in the year according to the team behind the project.

Having been released on Steam on Early Access on the 25th of January, Cogwheel Software – you may know them for the excellent Barotrauma – a monster/submarine combo with nightmarish action, is now responsible for new scare ’em-up Hidden Deep – a side-scrolling horror game, that as you can see from the featured image above has a pretty unique art style.

While not being based on Aliens in any way, even though the devs cite inspiration from the classic sci-fi, the game involves that same claustrophobic dread that steadily builds up, right to the point where you quit out and go and play Fall guys for a bit of light relief.

Steam reviews so far are Mostly Positive, which considering the game has just launched in Early Access is a solid start. With Barotrauma still getting very regular content updates, things look rosy for Hidden Deep if it can hit the wide audience that console success will give it
