After what feels like an eternity, we finally received a meaty slice of Hollow Knight: Silksong gameplay during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase today. Alongside, the trailer confirmed that Hollow Knight: Silksong will hit Xbox Game Pass on day one. Check it out below.

The trailer sees nimble princess knight Hornet strutting her stuff, careening gracefully through Silk Song’s gorgeous hand drawn world. We catch glimpses of new enemies, precision traversal sequences, and what appear to be a handful of bosses we’ll likely be spending quite a bit of time trying to best. For our money, it looks as if Team Cherry is approaching a completed game.

Here’s the official blurb for those unfamiliar with the sequel to indie darling Hollow Knight:

“Play as Hornet, princess-protector of Hallownest, and adventure through a whole new kingdom ruled by silk and song! Captured and brought to this unfamiliar world, Hornet must battle foes and solve mysteries as she ascends on a deadly pilgrimage to the kingdom’s peak.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is the epic sequel to Hollow Knight, the award winning action-adventure. As the lethal hunter Hornet, journey to all-new lands, discover new powers, battle vast hordes of bugs and beasts and uncover ancient secrets tied to your nature and your past.”

Hollow Knight: Silksong Day One on Game Pass

While gameplay is the focus, the trailer adds in a day one Xbox Game Pass launch for Hollow Knight: Silk Song. It will be available to subscribers on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Cloud.

Hollow Knight: Silksong heads to PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Consoles, Xbox Cloud, and Xbox Game Pass. Still no word on a firm release date quite yet, but at least we have something to tide us over. Let’s hope the wait for more news isn’t quite as long this time around.
