A recently leaked Intel mobility roadmap has confirmed specific core details of the latest Intel 12th Gen Alder Lake mobility CPU lineup. Alongside respective 14 and 10 core designs, the new mobility CPUs will also be some of the first to feature DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 support.

Intel 12th Gen Alder Lake CPU specifications leaked

The leaked roadmap offers up specific details of the new mobility CPUs, including manufacturer timeframes, core counts, TDP, and feature support. Whilst the below image showcases past hardware, we’ll be focusing on the Alder Lake-P and Alder Lake-M data – found on the right-hand side around Q4 ’21.

As you can see from the image above (taken from the WCCFTECH leak) Intel’s Alder Lake-P processors will be replacing all tiger Lake-H45, H35, and UP3 alternatives. The Alder Lake-P flagship will feature an impressive 14-core design made up of 6 Golden Cove cores and 8 Grace Mont cores. Other processors within the range will feature between 6 and 14 cores.

CPUs within this lineup will also feature TDP ranging from 12W to 45W, 96 XE graphics execution units, Thunderbolt 4.0 support, and WiFi 6E support. Furthermore, the Alder Lake-P processors will also offer up PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 support – making them some of the first laptop processors to do so.

Alternatively, Alder Lake-M processors won’t offer the same feature-rich design, supporting only PCIe 4.0 and LPDDR4X/LPDDR5 memory. That said, Alder Lake-M processors will feature an ultra-thin design with core counts ranging between 5-10 – whilst still featuring 48-96 Xe execution units.

Intel Alder Lake-P/ Intel Alder Lake-M release dates

According to leaks, the production window for the Alder Lake-P processors is November 8th to March 13th. Alternatively, Alder Lake-M processors run from January 17th to April 17th. Whilst this doesn’t give us an exact date for release, it does give a rough idea on when each will potentially hit shelves – with Alder Lake-M coming to shelves after the P variants.

If you’re keen for more details on the matter, we can likely hear mobility chip updates from the upcoming ‘ON’ and CES 2022 events.
