Has Intel’s Core 11th Generation Just Been Spotted?

With the announcement of Intel’s Core 10th generation of CPUs, it appears that Intel is already busy and working on their successor, the 11th generation lineup. This will be a pivotal lineup for Intel as it will mark the moment they shift to the Willow Cove core architecture which will also feature Intel’s Gen12 Xe graphics.

A recent leak from regular leakers TUM_APISAK and _rogame has given some insight into the first Rocket Lake-S sample CPU.

What Does This Leak Show?

According to the leak, this CPU is set to feature 6 cores and 12 threads and will have a base clock of 3.5 GHz as well as a boost clock of around 4.2 GHz. With this being such an early leak, it’s likely that this is only an engineering sample which could mean these specifications are likely to change.

There are also rumors that point towards the upcoming Rocket Lake-S CPUs featuring up to a total of 8 cores and 16 threads due to them being an adapted version of the mobile Tiger Lake CPUs. We’re not too sure how accurate these rumors are but one reason for this could be to expedite the release date.

An image posted by _rogame shows a set of results from 3DMark 11. This shows the CPU has a score of 1900 for graphics and 11887 for physics. When compared to the Intel Core i5-10400 CPU, this falls slightly short in the physics score. However, this will be due to the fact that this is merely an engineering sample. What the final scores will look like will be interesting to see so we’ll certainly be keeping an eye out for new information.
