iPhone 15 hype is in full swing, with the WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) taking place on June 5th – June 9th. However, that event is generally focus on software updates and other Apple devices. There’s no official info about the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max release date just yet, but they are set to launch in a few months. The exact window can be pretty predictable.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro & iPhone 15 Pro Max release window prediction

Apple has become a versatile company over the years, but iPhones still lead Apple’s yearly product launches. So, Apple follows a strict Fall schedule for the iPhone release.

Apple usually releases iPhones around the second or third week of September. The company will follow the same for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, which are a part of the iPhone 15 Series. So, the expected date currently sits at September 12th or 13th in 2024 at the earliest.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro & iPhone 15 Pro Max release date history

Apple added the Pro and the Pro Max devices to its line-up with the iPhone 11 in 2019. The company continued this trend with the latter iPhone series, and we will see the same in the iPhone 15 series.

The iPhone Pro and Pro Max models get released with the rest of the line-up. Apple follows a strict September schedule. The same will likely happen in 2024. In the meantime, let’s check out the previous iPhone Pro and Pro Max releases.

  • iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max release date: September 20, 2019
  • iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max release date: October 23, 2020
  • iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max release date: September 24, 2021
  • iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max release date: September 16, 2022

There is also an old rumor mentioning the iPhone 15 Ultra, but some other outlets report that this has been delayed for a later generation or a simple name change (such as a replacement for the iPhone 16 Pro Max).

Apple iPhone 15 Pro & iPhone 15 Pro Max features (rumored)

2022 was a big year for Apple. The company really changed the iPhone Pro and Pro Max series with the Pill cut-out and Dynamic Island. Though it’s probably likely this will change a massive amount just a year later, many specs will be getting revised and upgraded according to leaks.

With the iPhone 15 line-up announcement on the horizon, we’ve looked over some of the rumored specs for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max ahead of time.

  • Screen size: Apple will likely keep the screen size the same. 6.1-inch for the iPhone 15 Pro and 6.7-inch for the iPhone 15 Pro Max variant.
  • Design: The Pro series could get a design change, including rounder edges and a solid-state, multi-purpose action button. We also expect to see thinner bezels, especially on the Pro Max – as Tom’s Guide reports. The Pro Max could also be using a titanium frame / chassis. New solid-state buttons such as an action button or volume buttons are also rumored.
  • Chipset: Apple’s next-generation A17 Bionic chip is rumored to be on board, providing a noticeable processor upgrade, as well as a Qualcomm modem chip.
  • Storage: The last generation featured storage from 128GB up to 1TB, so we expect this at the very least. However, rumors say that more storage could be a selling point – meaning a bump of the base level up to the 256GB mark. This has yet to be confirmed though.
  • Port: New rules force Apple to adapt to USB-C ports; so it’s extremely likely that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will be a part of this change. This is the case in Europe at the very least, but we expect Apple to bring the extra fast USB-C to iPhone 15 worldwide to replace the lightning port.
  • Camera: A periscope zoom lens is rumored for at least the iPhone 15 Pro Max. This periscope lens would be included alongside the usual wide and telephoto camera lens to improve optical zoom. The Pro is expected to have a larger camera bump.
  • Battery & charging: Not much about the battery itself is known. However, the switch to USB-C and a more power-efficient display could mean both faster charging and longer battery life.

Will iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max have USB-C?

The EU mandate forced Apple to adapt iPhones for USB-C. Rumors suggest the entire iPhone 15 lineup will get the USB-C treatment, which obviously means the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will adapt to the new port.

Is iPhone 15 Pro getting a design change?

It is possible. Apple changes the iPhone design every few years. However, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max already introduced the Dynamic Island, so we don’t expect any similar major changes.
