MLB The Show is no exception to this rule and will soon release its yearly franchise entry. With the release date fast approaching, many fans are getting ready to pick up the game for their respective consoles.
Since the next generation of consoles is a bit easier to acquire, some fans fear that the game will not release on the previous generation of consoles. Let’s go over if you will still be able to pick up MLB The Show 23 on PS4.
Is MLB The Show 23 Going To Be On PS4?
If you are still having trouble getting your hands on a PS5, have no fear — MLB The Show 23 is not leaving the previous generation of consoles behind. You will still be able to pick the game up for PS4 in any of the various editions that the game releases in.
While there has been no word on how many years this trend will continue, it seems that the previous generation of consoles is safe for another year of releases. Hopefully, anyone that wants to get a next-gen console will finally have one by this time next year and the previous generation can be phased out for good.
But, it seems that the PS4 versions of upcoming releases will be around for just a bit longer. If you do pick up specific PS4 versions of MLB The Show 23, it can be later upgraded to the PS5 for no cost. You just need to make sure you hold onto the code that you get when you buy the PS4 version.
If you want this upgradability, you will need to get the Captain edition of the game. This seems to be the only version advertising the PS5 entitlement at the moment, but other versions may come with a code as well down the line.
