Today, we’re going to find out whether Sony’s ‘Pro’ controller, the DualSense Edge is compatible with PC.
We can’t find any specifics from Sony itself, however, given that the standard PS5 DualSense works perfectly with PC, we can’t see any reason why the new one won’t work too.
This is refreshing too, as console controllers have had a particularly sordid history concerning compatibility with PC, as consoles are famously proprietary, with these limitations extending to their controllers and headsets too.

Will the DualSense Edge work on PC?
Of course, Xbox controllers have always worked well on PC, presumably due to Xbox being owned by Microsoft. This means that they’ve been the de facto controller for PC gamers for years at this point.
Even PC gamers, famous for their fervent love of the mouse and keyboard and corresponding hatred for controllers, must admit that a controller is needed sometimes.
Racing games and third-person shooters specifically are generally agreed upon to be more enjoyable with a controller. Coming from a Dark Souls veteran, those games are pretty worthless with a mouse and keyboard, for example.

However, PC gamers who prefer the PlayStation layout are in luck, as the original PS5 controller worked via Bluetooth or USB Type-C, both of which are open standards.
However, we aren’t yet sure how the DualSense Edge will show up on PC, with the extra paddles potentially being tricky to effectively assign, though we have hope that they will simply show up as normal inputs.
So, we’re going to say will relative surety that yes, the DualSense Edge will work on PC.
Why use a DualSense Edge on PC?
Well, if you were already in the market for a ‘Pro’ controller, and you use a PS5 on the side, this will be the perfect solution to allow you to dominate with a controller on both platforms.
