So The Last Of Us Part 1 Remake, huh? Looks like it’s real, and it was available for pre-order for the briefest possible period of time.

The Last Of Us Part 1 Trailer Leaked

PlayStation Direct briefly had a pre-order page up for the remake and a trailer, which you can watch above. The game will built from the ground up for PS5, is also being developed for PC and will launch on the 2nd September 2022. The entire page has since been pulled from PlayStation Direct, but the information is all out there. The page read:

“Enjoy a total overhaul of the original experience, faithfully but incorporating modernized gameplay, improved controls and expanded accessibility options. Plus, feel immersed with improved effects and enhanced exploration and combat.”

The page confirms that the full package will include the single-player game plus Left Behind, but won’t include the multiplayer of the original game. According to Naughty Dog the multiplayer for The Last Of Us Part 2 is still in development, Factions, but we don’t have a clue when that will release or whether or not it’s even progressing smoothly in development. It’s likely the existence of this is the reason why they’re not porting The Last Of Us Part 1’s multiplayer across to the new generation of consoles.

A Final Confirmation

Rumours of a Last Of Us 1 remake started quite a while ago, but as of yesterday it was reported by an alleged industry insider that we’ll be getting the game in September of this year, which has since been confirmed by the above leak. The game will likely bring it more in line with the mechanics and the feel of The Last Of Us Part 2, but adapted to the original game.
