Just announced, welcome the LEGO Atari 2600 (10306) being released 1st August
Ready Player One
LEGO has just dropped the iconic Atari 2600 as a brand new set to arrive to LEGO collectors around the world on the 1st of August 2022. The latest gaming console to be released in brick form has 2,532 pieces and will retail for USD $239.99 / GBP £209.99.
The Atari 2600 LEGO set was designed by Chris McVeigh and unlike the Nintendo NES console will not include a TV but instead features three games including Asteroids, Adventure, and Centipede as well as three mini builds for each game. Fans will also get the infamous Atari joystick (which is movable) and a cartridge storage rack.
A neat little feature is that the Atari 2600 will open up to show an 80’s gaming room.
Whilst they are not like for like, the Nintendo NES console retails for GBP £199.99 and includes 2,646 bricks whereas the Atari 2600 will retail for £209.99 and includes slightly fewer bricks at 2,532. Having built the Nintendo NES console recently, if the Atari 2600 has anywhere near the attention to detail, it will be an absolutely amazing build as well as a fantastic display set.
You will be able to purchase the LEGO Atari 2600 directly from the LEGO store right here. We do not yet know whether LEGO will open up the Atari 2600 for pre orders.
Youtuber, Bricksie was lucky enough to get his hands on the Atari 2600 early and has a fantastic video up on his channel right now showcasing the brand new Atari 2600. You can watch it below!
