Lego Star Wars has been around for over a decade and a half at this point, and basically launched the template that all games in the Lego franchise would follow after that point. Soon it’ll be possible to play every single movie in the mainline Star Wars franchise thanks to Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

With this beast of a game just on the horizon, it’s time for Star Wars fans and Lego fans to both get excited. To help hype you up we’ve compiled a bunch of release info right on this very page.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Release Date

This game has been kicking around for quite a long time, with the initial teaser being shown off at E3 2019, though we now know development has been going on since at least 2017. It must take a long time to squeeze 9 movies into a single game after all.

While it was a long time coming, just recently the publishers finally revealed the release date for the game to be April 5th, 2022. As with most Lego games, The Skywalker Saga will be available on pretty much every major console as well as PC.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Trailer

Other than the initial teaser, and another trailer mainly using film footage, Traveller’s Tales have been incredibly tight-lipped about the game. Until recently that is. When they announced the release date, they also dropped the official trailer for the game finally.

One of the best changes that the trailer details is the overhauled combat system. For years now, Lego games have all had a very messy combat system that mostly saw your character flailing around until you or your enemy died. Now it seems like the combat actually has a bit more nuance and skill to it, which is a nice touch. There’s also the inclusion of things like the galaxy map and space battles that make it clear a lot of work has gone into making this game.

You can check out the gameplay deep-dive trailer below if you want an in-depth look at the game.
