This section will be updated with dates to reflect every single piece of relevant news as and when it happens. 2023 is looking to be another fantastic year for stunning OLED TVs from LG.

LG C3 OLED TV: Everything you need to know

So, what do you need to know about so far? The LG C3 OLED TV is definitely looking to impress us as we start to make our way through the early stages in 2024. CES has now been and gone but the event saw some of the biggest tech announcements of the year.

We know that the LG C3 is a certainty right now, and a few different specs and design qualities based on a few quick-look impressions. We learnt more during the LG keynote presentation at CES. Keep on reading below as we take you through some of the important details.

LG C3 expected release date

New announcements are suggesting that the latest LG C3 OLED TV lineup will launch in March 2023.

The news comes from Prad.de – which showcases the release dates and pricing for a number of upcoming OLED TV series. This includes the LG C3, B3, G3, and Z3 models – with the latter hitting shelves for an eye-watering $30,000.

If we look back at the C2 OLED release, which dropped in April 2022, we can speculate that we’ll be seeing a similar timeframe from the LG C3 release this year.

LG OLED C3 specifications

We still don’t have a full set of specs for the C3 but that doesn’t mean we can go through a few things that we do know so far.

One of the key things you’ll be reading about is the increased perceived brightness from the C3 display. This is achieved because of a new lighting algorithm used by the new Alpha a9 Gen 6 processor. The tech aims to boost brightness areas of the screen where your eyes will be first to focus on, creating the effect of increased brightness.

When it comes to inputs and outputs, we know that the LG C3 will have 4 full-spec HDMI 2.1 ports with ALLM. One of these ports will be eARC-compliant.

LG C3-Series: Sizing

When it comes to sizing, we aren’t entirely sure of the exact details as of now. LG’s keynote will be taking place later today and we’ll be back to update you with everything you need to know.

For the previous generation LG C2, we saw sizes of 42″, 48″, 55″, 65″, 77″, and 88″. We expect to see something similar to these popular TV display sizes with the LG C3 OLED TV.

LG C3 size guide

It looks like we’re going to be getting 42″, 48″, 55″, 65″, 77″, and 83″models for the LG C3. Obviously, the size you pick will depend a lot on your individual needs but 55-inch and 65-inch variants tend to be the most popular. It’s worth bearing in mind that LG’s new brightness booster tech wont be present in the smallest two models. If you’re really wanting to get the most out of LG’s latest C model then, you’ll want to go for at least the 55-inch version.

LG C3 design

The LG C3 OLED TV’s design has definitely aimed to improve on the previous generation. You just need to be aware that the C3 is more of a mid-range model when you pit it up against the upcoming LG G3, much like how the C2 and G2 models of 2022 compared.

As usual, the OLED display of the LG C3 means that the design is incredibly thin, with just a small section protruding from the back to allow space for inputs and outputs.

LG C3 potential price

Until now, we’ve had no real indication – apart from last year’s launch price – of what the LG C3 OLED TV might retail for.

However, new announcements have just been made by Prad.De who suggest the following price points for the LG C3 OLED TV:

SeriesModelSizeRelease DatePrice
LG OLED C3OLED83C39LA.AEU83-inchMarch 2023€7,299
LG OLED C3OLED77C39LC.AEU77-inchMarch 2023€5,399

LG C3 vs LG G3

These two TVs are both set to be best sellers but which is right for you? With their G series LG are aiming for a slightly higher-end market than the C series. The Previous models in the G series have featured a slimmer and more sleek design than those of the C series. The main functional difference between these two models is going to be the heatsink. The G3 like its predecessor will feature a heatsink whilst the C3 will not. In practical terms this means that the G3 can be pushed brighter despite having the same OLED panel.

For this snazzy design and the extra capabilities however, you’re of course going to be paying more. For last year’s 55-inch version of the C2 and G2 there was a $400 price gap.

Should you buy the LG C3 when it releases?

With the exciting prospect of even further advancements in OLED TVs, we definitely recommend checking out the LG C3 as soon as you possibly can. We’ll have to weigh up the cost, specs, and features further down the line to see if it’s really a top competitor in 2024.

Should I buy the LG C3 or LG G3?

This is most likely going to depend on your budget. If you’ve got the cash available we’d probably recommend the G3 given its superior capabilities and sleek design. That said, the LG C3 is going to undoubtedly be a great TV when it is released too.
