TikTok is reportedly developing a new AI chatbot that goes by the name of Tako. The chatbot will feature on the home page at the top right of the screen for now and will be there to lend a helping hand whenever you may need it.

TikTok’s new AI chatbot is called “Tako.” According to recent reports, TikTok has been developing Tako and is currently testing it before releasing it to the community. Tako is an AI chatbot designed to assist users by answering their questions or prompts.

To access Tako, users will see an icon located above their profile page. By clicking on this icon, they can interact with the AI chatbot. Tako will be capable of providing responses to queries such as finding specific videos, such as controversial stories, and displaying related videos. Additionally, Tako will suggest prompts to help initiate discussions with the bot.
Daniel Buchuk from Watchful Technologies had early access to Tako, he said this: “If I’m watching food videos and ask for a recipe, I’ll get related TikTok videos for the recipe, or if I ask for good art exhibitions in Paris, it’ll show videos alongside a list of suggestions in the answer,”. Truly very innovative. However, it is currently unknown what language model Tako will use, possibly Chat GPT.
TikTok even took to Twitter to announce the development of the AI chatbot.
With the introduction of Tako, TikTok aims to further integrate artificial intelligence into its platform, potentially positioning itself as a primary search engine for many internet users.
