See that fence over there far in the distance? Well, it’s almost time to knock that ball over it and run around a diamond to the applause of people you don’t know. That’s right, as we enter the second quarter of 2022, MLB The Show 22 is about to land. Living in a world where the Maddens and FIFAs unveil their 22 iterations long before the end of the previous year, this might be a tad confusing, either way, it’s time to take you off to the ballgame.

If it’s the standard version of the game you have your eyes on, and that will include the free Xbox Game Pass version as well as PlayStation and Switch offerings you will have to hang on a few more days until April 5th. unlock time for the PlayStation is midnight ET/ We shall therefore assume that the other console versions will come along at a similar time, although this is, as yet, unconfirmed.
MLB The Show 22 Early Access
if you have stumped up some cold hard cash and pre-bought the Digital Deluxe edition then you can play from today – April 1st. This early access is also available if you picked up the MVP version of the game on the Xbox or PlayStation (the MVP is not available on the Nintendo Switch at this time)
Does MLB The Show have crossplay?
It does indeed. The 22 version of the game has cross-platform and cross-progression so you can play out and about with your Switch and then come back home and load up the PlayStation version. Of course, that would involve you buying two versions of the same game which is probably ridiculous, but each to their own.
