MSI Optix MEG381CQR Gaming Monitor At CES 2020

MSI showcased some really interesting gamer gear at CES 2020, most notably a range of incredible gaming monitors. Amongst the laptops and motherboards, this new Optix Ultrawide gaming monitor stood out, with a sleek futuristic design and some really cool innovations in the monitor market.

MSI Optix MEG381CQR Gaming Monitor

MSI’s latest monitor triumph is beautiful, and this monitor truly deserves the attention it’s getting at the event. Luckily, WePC got our hands on this at CES and if it could fit in our luggage, we’d be taking it home. The UW monitor (21:9) comes with a 38″ IPS display, a crisp 3840 x 1600 uWQHD resolution, and a subtle 2300R curvature. The monitor isn’t just a visual delight though, oh no, it comes packed with an array of features, some of which feel very original.

The Optix MEG381CQR’s most notable feature is its OLED display in the corner. The mini display or ‘Human Machine Interface’ (HMI) as MSI call it, reminds us off the SteelSeries Rival 710, with it giving gamers access to in-game data. Of course, you can just display the weather if you fancy but you can also show things like your current health in CSGO. Aside from the mini OLED, we see RGB all over this monitor, which I have to say does look fantastic on the screen.

It is worth noting that this monitor also features a 144Hz refresh rate and a 1MS response time, giving this monitor some pretty decent specifications.
