MSI plans to return with its next-gen overclocking UNIFY-X motherboard series for the upcoming Intel Z890 chipset. Previously, we have not seen UNIFY-X boards for the last-gen X670 and Z790 products. However, MSI has not only confirmed that the boards will be coming back for this generation, but we can expect to see them pretty soon.
MSI has already started the prelaunch campaign of their UNIFY-X series ahead of the October 10th announcement for the Intel Core Ultra 200 series and the Z890 motherboard. This is not the launch date; we expect to see the complete reveal later this month, possibly on October 24th.

What can we expect to see in the MSI MEG Z890 UNIFY-X motherboard?
The MSI MEG UNIFY-X motherboard is expected to come at a high cost since the board is catered to overclocking enthusiasts who demand power and performance. In terms of specifications, the board is said to come with 2 x DDR5 memory slots with memory speeds of up to 10,000+ MT/s. The MEG Z890 UNIFY-X might also be the first to natively support the new CUDIMM DDR5 memory type.
Apart from that, it will feature a 20+1+1+1 VRM design, a 24+6+8+8 power connector setup, and an additional 8-pin power connector for ATX 3.1 graphics cards. With network connectivity, we are looking at Intel Killer WiFi 7 and 5Gb Intel Killer Ethernet which is the first time we have heard such a thing, and Bluetooth 5.4 module for wireless connectivity.
MSI has also included two PCle 5.0 x16 slots, one PCle 4.0 x16 slot, and one PCle 4.0 x1 slot. Users will also be able to connect up to six M.2 SSDs (two Gen5 and one Gen4), as well as six SATA ports. Since the board is for overclockers, it will also support the OC tuning controller with more details yet to come.

The MSI MEG Z890 UNIFY-X motherboard is coming soon
The release date for the MSI MEG Z890 UNIFY-X motherboard has yet to be announced, but MSI has confirmed that the board will be ‘Coming Soon.’ With advanced features and potential support for a newer memory type, anticipation for the new motherboard continues to build. We can’t wait to see how long it will be before we get our hands on it.
