MW2 hits all-time low price in Steam sale

Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is Infinity Ward’s latest window into the Call of Duty Franchise, it features a whole new remake of the story from the original game. And of course, some major graphics and gameplay improvements. MW2 hits an all-time low price in Steam sales.
Since the game was released around 6 months ago, it’s not uncommon to see price drops, however, we have here an all-time low, and it’s a particularly low price drop.
Edit: This sale is now over. MW2 has now returned to its normal price.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II hits all-time low price on Steam
According to SteamDB, MW2 has hit an all-time low price in Steam’s latest batch of sales. We are not talking about the Steam Summer sales just yet, this appears to be a separate sale that isn’t tied to an event.
MW2 usually retails at around £60 (59.99) but now it seems it has been reduced by 45% down to £32.99, this is a massive reduction in price. We wonder if this discount has come along as a result of the falling concurrent player count over the last few months.
Discounting games can be a great way to bring in new players, especially since Call of Duty games remain so expensive for so long. Even games that came out just under a decade ago have barely moved in price since launch.
It’s nice to see sales happening, but in our honest opinion, MW2 should be around £30 by this point as standard anyway without a sale. If the Call of Duty games followed the same trend as most other games in the world, then we’d be seeing prices in the single digits for those decade-old titles.
Should you buy MW2 now?
You usually have to wait for Call of Duty games to go on sale to get a good deal, so if you’re really wanting to play MW3, then you might as well buy it now, it’s probably not going to be this cheap for a long time. you only have 4 days left as of the time of writing to snag this deal on MW2.
Should you wait for the Steam Summer Sale?
However, we do have the Steam Summer Sale coming up. SteamDB reports that the Steam Summer sale will begin on the 29th of June 2023. It is unknown what sort of discounts we might see during the Summer Sales, but we know they’re going to be big. However, MW2 might not be one of the titles discounted, since it is now so close to the event.
