2K have released the NBA 2K22 Update 1.7 patch notes alongside their new update, which brings several changes to the latest edition of the biggest hoops simulator in the world. There are several bug fixes and NBA brand authenticity updates, which we’ll detail below. 

What bug fixes are in NBA 2K22 Update 1.7?

Most importantly, they’ve fixed a glitch in the game’s collision detection that previously let players do “ghost” charges and fouls from a distance during matches. While these displays of incredible psychic might were funny, they weren’t really in the spirit of competitive basketball. Not that we wouldn’t watch that ridiculous version more. We definitely would. 

The Rebirth quest and The Gym Rat badge were previously made unavailable, but are now attainable again for anyone who would like to take the time to get them. 2K Sports and Visual Concepts have also fixed the issue with custom jerseys that resulted in invisible players in MyTEAM games, so you’ll also no longer have to play b-ball with Claude Rains.

Alongside those fixes, there have been others designed to improve ‘the overall experience of NBA 2K22 across all game modes.’ This includes changes to NBA 2K22 Season 2: Build Your Empire and various UI updates to make the game’s menus better before you hit the court. 

What authenticity updates have been made to NBA 2K22 to prepare for the new season?

Several changes have been made to NBA 2K22 to make the game seem more authentic and true to the NBA experience in advance of the 2022 basketball season. This includes newly recorded voice content for the in-game broadcast presentation as well as redesigns to several basketball courts and arenas.

The courts that have been updated to match their real life counterparts in the new NBA 2K22 update belong to big name teams like the Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns, Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs and the Toronto Raptors.

New scans have been made for several notable NBA individuals, to make them better represent their real life selves. There have been new scans and likeness updates for Lindsay Allen, Scottie Barnes, Dijonai Carrington, Stephanie Jones, Tre Mann, Davion Mitchell, Kelsey Mitchell, Trey Murphy III, Chiney Ogwumike, Karlie Samuelson, Alperen Sengun and Jasmine Walker. All of them look a lot more like their actual 2022 selves now, which can only be a good thing.

What changes have been made to NBA 2K22’s MyCAREER quests?

Several changes have been made to NBA 2K22’s MyCAREER mode in alongside bug fixes and gameplay adjustments that are designed to make the game work better in general. The most notable fixes are to a rare issue that prevents certain users from becoming the starter at the right time during the Toe The Line quest and to other problems that were preventing stats and quests from being tracked and completed correctly. 

2K Sports and Visual Concepts have also fixed problems with objective rewards unlocking, including both the The Belle of the Ball achievement bug and reward collection issues from the buildings purchased during the Music and Fashion arcs of the game.

What changes have been made to NBA 2K22’s MyTEAM mode?

NBA 2K22’s popular MyTEAM mode is not immune to the various improvements and support changes that have arrived in-game, and there have been changes to both the Unlimited and Triple Threat Online: The 100 modes.

Alongside that, 2K Sports and Visual Concepts have added support for Recurring and Event Exchanges and improved the overall user experience in The Exchange in general. There have also been several undisclosed improvements to Ball Drops — we’re hoping they’ve been made faster, in response to fans calling them ‘agonizingly slow’ shortly after launch. 

Support for cards has been improved, as Event Card and Shoe Colorway Card brand searches have been added to the Auction House from My Collection. The bug with Signed Player Cards has also been fixed, and they no longer have distorted backgrounds. This isn’t the only bug that has been addressed, as stat displays and boosts from Shoe Cards have now been properly implemented in the mode too.

Setting line-ups has also been fixed, and you can now properly set them in Triple Threat Play with your friends. A bug has also been squashed that stopped players from being able to look at the opponent’s starting lineup before playing online games.
