As you play NBA 2K23 more and more, you’ll begin to notice the impact great defense can have for your team or player. NBA 2K did a lot to improve and build upon the defensive gameplay of their latest edition, including the on-ball defense, stealing moves, and blocking.

Additional Tips: As it relates to so many things in NBA 2K23, timing is a major factor to keep in mind when performing blocks. If you’re a hair early, you could get faked out and allow your opponent to score. And if you’re too late, your opponent could shoot over you.

Moreover, proximity is also important, especially for chase-down blocks. If you’re not close enough to the ball handler, your block attempt will merely serve as a shot contest at best.

To get a good feel for how to block, we recommend trying the move out with some of the best rated players in the game that will grant you a chance to learn and master blocking.
