Any fans of the popular FPS title Escape From Tarkov will be overjoyed to find out that there is an all-new map heading to their favorite shooter. This was announced by Battlestate Games through a small teaser video that showed a player exploring an abandoned city.
To save you the trouble of looking, we’ve linked to the teaser video below. Although it is a short clip, we can see the player exploring the city streets, heading into deserted buildings, and having a good root around.
We have to say, the detail shown in this teaser is outstanding. The city looks well lived in and the signs of desertion are everywhere. There is graffiti on the walls, dark corridors, and destruction everywhere.
It looks like our observations are spot on, according to the head of PR Nikita Buyanov, this map is “the biggest and most detailed location ever”. That’s a pretty bold claim but we can’t say we’re not surprised.
New Features In The 12.7 Patch
For games that aren’t fully released just yet, each patch is exciting news for gamers. We’ll usually see a few features added and some big bugs squashed. The 12.7 patch for Escape From Tarkov has been described by Buyanov as “more like a technical patch”. The area of the Customs map is set to expand by around “30 or even 40 percent” which will add a lot more room to maneuver for players.
There will also be an overhaul of the skill system in this upcoming patch and a new boss called the Senator. We don’t know too much about either of these new additions just yet but Buyanov has teased that the Senator can “heal his partners and search for stashes”. This means players could be coming up against a pretty formidable opponent in their gameplay and we can’t wait to hear more.
