A possible new addition to the Jurassic Park game franchise might be in the works with Jurassic World: Primal Ops. Universal / Universal City Studios LLC – the studio that owns the Jurassic Park franchise – were spotted on the copyright search engine Trademarkia filing a trademark for ‘Jurassic World: Primal Ops’.

The Jurassic World: Primal Ops name has been filed under Computer and Software products, implying it’s for a game. As for what kind of game it could be, it’s still too early to tell. Some speculate that it might be for a mobile game of sorts but some details mention ‘computer game software’, ‘video game consoles’ and even discs which could still imply a console or PC game.

Only time will tell whether fans will be lured into another mobile game for the franchise.

Nonetheless, we can be certain that this leak is authentic, as the trademark can also be seen on Justia Trademarks, where the Jurassic World Aftermath VR game was leaked. Furthermore, the same attorney who filed for that game also filed for Primal Ops.

All that we can use to speculate is the name, which does imply some kind of shooter. As such, many even wonder whether this new game might be a sequel or a remake of Jurassic Park: Trespasser.

Is Primal Ops a sequel to Jurassic Park: Trespasser?

Old school Jurassic Park gamers will remember Trespasser, the action-adventure 1998 game for PC. The game served as a sequel to Jurassic Park: The Lost World, taking place a year before the movie’s events.

Players of this game might remember it being quite poorly received at the time with a lot of mixed to negative reviews. However, some also say this was due to a rushed development and over ambition for the game.

Some even said it was too advanced for its time as it required a fast and powerful computer to render the game well. Something quite tricky to do for the casual gamer in 1998.

In the meantime, we will have to wait to hear more about this mystery game and what exactly it could be.

Jurassic World: Evolution Release Date

For the time being, Jurassic Park / World fans still have Jurassic World: Evolution 2 to look forward to. Frontier Developments’ park management sequel which will see a Xbox, PlayStation and PC release on the 9th of November.
