Nvidia’s GeForce RTX SUPER GPU Range Comes To Laptops

There’s some good news for Nvidia fans who have been considering a gaming laptop for some time. Nvidia has recently announced that their GeForce RTX SUPER range will be coming to laptops.
These new laptops will feature either the GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER or the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER which will feature Turing architecture. There’s no word on whether gaming laptops will be able to get an RTX 2060 SUPER though.
These graphics cards will be enhanced with RT cores which will bring ray tracing technology to laptops. The RTX SUPERs on offer will also feature low-voltage GDDR6 memory.
Max-Q Design
Another thing to note about these new laptops is that they will feature Max-Q designs which are typically lower clocked and less power consuming than other models with Max-P designs.
Max-Q is Nvidia’s way of creating some of the thinnest, quietest and fastest gaming laptops out there.
Dynamic Boost
Nvidia has also announced that these laptops will feature something called Dynamic Boost which is an automatic power balancing technology between the CPU and the GPU. This will be enabled at all times and will adapt according to usage.
This sounds like it will be similar to what AMD is currently offering with their SmartShift technology so it’s good to see other companies making use of this type of intuitive technology.
When Will These RTX SUPER Laptops Be Available?
The new Nvidia RTX SUPER GPUs for laptops will be available from April 15th onwards. More laptop designs with this new GPU range are expected to land sometime in May. However, a lot of companies have been experiencing delays during the COVID-19 crisis so there could be more of a wait before you get your hands on one.
The Nvidia RTX SUPER series will be available in a number of different laptops from manufacturers including ASUS, Acer, Dell, Gigabyte, HP and Lenovo. When we hear more details of specific laptop models, we will keep you updated.
