Nvidia Shares Cyberpunk 2077 Screenshots Highlighting RTX Effects

We’re sure that Cyberpunk is going to be one of the biggest games of the year. With The Witcher, developer CD Projekt Red increased the scale and ambition of the series with each game, and we’re hoping to see that continue with Cyberpunk 2077. Certainly what we’ve seen of the game so far has impressed us. We already heard that these raytracing effects would be making it into the game, but these new screenshots do an excellent job of showcasing them, and how they will actually look in-game. CD Projekt Red is partnering with Nvidia for this game, where they’ve implemented a host of Nvidia exclusive effects, that will use the RTX cores in top-end Nvidia GPUs for ray-tracing and other advanced graphical effects. We’ve heard Nvidia talk a little bit about these effects already, but now they’re showing us some new screenshots of them in action.

You will need to have an Nvidia GPU in order to play the game with these effects enabled, and it will need to be an RTX cart. Luckily the prices have started to come down for some of these cards. Check out the full system requirements for Cyberpunk over here.

It really is a looker, with reflections and shadows looking extremely detailed. Surfaces glisten and shine at various different levels depending on what they’re made of, and the use of different colored lighting depending on the scene really helps set the tone.

As of right now, Cyberpunk 2077 is set for a November 19th release date, but it has been delayed already, so it’s feasible that this date could shift again.
