Last week, we saw several rumors surface around an MSRP of $2,500 USD for the flagship RTX 5090 – but that might be a little exaggerated. Kopite7kimi, a well-respected leaker within the tech space, is suggesting that the recent price predictions are simply unrealistic. In an X post, Kopite7kimi replies in a thread saying, “I don’t believe there will be a significant price increase for the RTX 5090”.
In fact, according to a Wccftech post, he believes that we won’t see a significant increase over the RTX 4090 MSPR – which launched for $1599 USD.
No one knows what the RTX 5090 MSRP will be
At this stage, it has been confirmed by numerous sources that no one really knows what the RTX 5090 MSRP will be. Hassan Mutjaba, News Editor of Wccftech, stated in a post that “No prices for RTX 50 GPUs have been shared with any partners” – meaning we’ll likely have to wait until CES 2025 to find out what price NVIDIA set for the range.
According to the leaked specs earlier last week, the new flagship GPU from NVIDIA is set to house 32 GB of VRAM and over 21,000 CUDA cores – a significant uplift over the current RTX 4090 flagship. It’s also slated to offer 24,576 cores total and 170 streaming multiprocessors, making it the most powerful GPU on the market once it finally launches.
Ultimately, we think there will likely be a small increase over the RTX 4090 – similar to that of the RTX 4090 over the RTX 3090 upon its own launch. We speculate it will run in the region of $1700-$1800, but only time will tell.
