Fans of the Oddworld series of games can rejoice in the fact that Stranger’s Wrath finally comes to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The Wild West shooter also comes to PlayStation 4 and PS5 consoles today, February 11th, 2022.

Way back in 2005, Stranger’s Wrath – the fifth instalment in the Oddworld series – was released exclusively to the original Xbox console. While the franchise’s first two games – Abe’s Oddysee and Abe’s Exoddus – were both released solely to PlayStation and PC, the third game – Munch’s Oddysee – was an Xbox exclusive and one of the console’s launch titles.

Later remastered by Just Add Water in 2010, Stranger’s Wrath was re-released, gradually, to PlayStation 3, Steam, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, mobile devices, and finally the Nintendo Switch in 2020. As such, Stranger’s Wrath’s inevitable and long-awaited return to its Xbox home has been long overdue – and is rectified as of February 11th.

With Stranger’s Wrath now available on all current-gen and next-gen consoles, you can now play most of the Oddworld collection on any platform. Buy Stranger’s Wrath at the Microsoft Store or PlayStation Store today, and fill out your collection with Abe’s Oddysee: New ‘N’ Tasty and Munch’s Oddysee as well. The latest game in the series, Soulstorm, is then also available on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, and is a follow-up to Abe’s Oddysee and an indirect reboot of Abe’s Exoddus.

Since Stranger’s Wrath has been available on Nintendo Switch for a couple of years now, you can actually get it as part of the Oddworld Collection, which features New ‘n’ Tasty, Munch’s Oddysee and Stranger’s Wrath in one bundle. Soulstorm, however, is not yet available on Nintendo Switch consoles.
