13.4 inch OLED MacBook Air release date window & specs estimate
When will the OLED MacBook Air come out? Plus the latest 13.4 inch OLED MacBook Air specs rumors

Details of a 13.4-inch OLED MacBook Air release date and any 13.4-inch OLED MacBook Air specs are very thin on the ground currently, based entirely off leaks and rumors, however it seems that the existence of such a device, whilst not yet officially confirmed, is more and more likely.
Although the iPhone 13 series and Apple Watch 7 both use OLED displays, most current Apple MacBooks and iPads either come equipped with a mini-LED display (such as the latest 12.9″ iPad Pro, 14″ MacBook Pro, and 16″ MacBook Pro) or LCD screens. It seems inevitable that Apple will want to make OLED screen options a reality for their MacBook series, given the popularity of OLED laptops from other brands.
MacBook Air release date history
The last MacBook Air that was released was the 2022 version, which had a 13.6″ screen.

13.4-inch OLED MacBook Air release date window prediction
Unfortunately the current 13.4-inch OLED MacBook Air release date window is extremely broad. The best we can say is that it will probably be coming out in 2024 (particularly as the last one was released in 2020), and given the lack of pattern in historical MacBook Air releases, it could be released at any point in the year.
This is the year that respected Mac commenter Mark Gurman has his money on, and more recently the leaker known as The Elec.
Some have stated that a 13.4-inch OLED MacBook Air release will be Apple‘s test product for the new screen before rolling it out to other models. The Elec however claims that Apple will sequentially first launch a new OLED iPad Pro that year, then an OLED MacBook Pro and finally the MacBook Air models.

13.4-inch OLED MacBook Air specs (predicted)
Besides the display size, there’s not much to go off yet in terms of the 13.4″ OLED MacBook Air specifications.
Marky Mark Gurman has stated he believes the CPU the device will be equipped with will be an M3 chip. He also doesn’t believe the first iteration of the laptop will be a touchscreen, but that this will follow in 2025.
According to The Elec, the 13.4″ OLED MacBook will have a Samsung-made panel, as opposed to the OLED panels being made by LG for the upcoming 11″ and 13″ inch iPad Pros. This is apparently because LG doesn’t have the production capacity to produce all three. it will be interesting to see if this makes a difference to the quality and/or technology used.
Ross Young, another big Apple commentator, has stated his belief that they will be made with a ‘tandem stack’ design – essentially being composed of two light-emitting RGB layers to increase the brightness of the display.
