PICO 4 VR features
PICO has made it abundantly clear that the primary focus of the PICO 4 VR is fitness, with the headset and OS able to track your progress, and even suggest certain applications that can increase the likelihood of succeeding in your goals. This is made even clearer by their official press images, which are all focused on activity, take a look below.
Most of the PICO 4 VR-specific games, which include a lot of fitness-focused titles are available through the OS via the official PICO store. With a broader library of general VR games available via Steam VR.
The fitness tracking stuff looks to be pretty impressive too, with the system being able to calculate total energy output by tracking the movement and positioning of the controllers and the headset itself.
This data could then be used to work out how many calories have been lost, which could then inform the progress toward activity goals, which is a unique system as far as we know, and sure to be one of the biggest selling points of the PICO 4 VR.
PICO 4 VR controllers
The headset itself is looking pretty impressive, but we have to talk about the controllers too, as they’re hiding some fun features and specs under their sleeves.
The controllers feature 6 degrees-of-freedom tracking, which is sure to help with the health features we mentioned earlier. Additionally, they are equipped with haptic feedback via a broadband motor capable of 50-500Hz, the higher the number, the more intense the feedback will be all the way up top a maximum 2.8 vibration
