Warner Bros Games and Hogwarts Legacy developer Avalanche are teaming up with PlayStation and taking over an entire State of Play broadcast just for the upcoming Harry Potter video game.
The State of Play stream is set to be around 20 minutes long, and will reveal over 14 minutes of Hogwarts Legacy gameplay as captured on a PS5. If you’re not already familiar, Hogwarts Legacy is set to be a massive, open-world RPG set long before Harry Potter was even a glint in James’ eye. Well, before James was a glint in his father’s, for that matter, as Hogwarts Legacy is set way back in the 1800s. While the locations and story will still feel familiar as you wander the halls of Hogwarts and roam the Forbidden Forest, Hogwarts Legacy will be an entirely new tale for fans of The Wizarding World.
Hogwarts Legacy State of Play from PlayStation
As State of Play is a PlayStation broadcast, the stream will reveal gameplay as it will look on a PS5 console. However, Hogwarts Legacy will be available on PS4, next-gen and current-gen Xbox consoles and PC.
In the announcement for the upcoming State of Play broadcast, Sony pointed out that the original trailer, released over a year ago in September 2020, has received over 28 million views on PlayStation’s YouTube channel alone – such is the appeal of the upcoming RPG adventure. Since then, Avalanche have been taking their time on the project – as such, there is still no release date as yet – so it will be interesting to see more detailed gameplay from the developer during the broadcast.
When is the PlayStation State of Play Hogwarts Legacy broadcast
The show will take place on March 17, 2022, at 2pm PDT/5pm EDT/9pm GMT/10pm CET.

Hogwarts Legacy release date
There isn’t a set release date for Hogwarts Legacy yet, other than the knowledge that it should be released sometime in 2022. We’ll of course let you know as soon as an official release date for Hogwarts Legacy is announced.
