Pokémon Day takes place on February 27th every year, but for 2022, The Pokémon Company is celebrating for more than just one day. Alongside announcements for other Pokémon titles, a video on the Pokémon YouTube channel revealed a two-week Pokémon Unite event to celebrate the special occasion. This February and March, Pokémon Unite will get the all-new Full-Fury mode, as well as a new support Pokémon – Hoopa – and loads of exciting bonuses. Let’s take a look at the Pokémon Day event in more detail.
UNITE’s Pokémon Day event introduces Full-Fury battles
Pokémon UNITE gets a fast and furious new mode for Pokémon Day, with the all-new Full-Fury battle mode. Full-Fury matches increase the pace of UNITE battles, with thrillingly fast gameplay. In order to make matches more frenzied than ever, Full-Fury battles feature shorter cooldowns, reduced wait times, lower recovery times, and much more. You’ll be able to string moves together easier than standard game modes, and Aeos energy pay-outs will be increased when you knock out an opponent. So get ready to think fast in Full-Fury mode.
Only available on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, Full-Fury battles will remain in UNITE after the Pokémon Day event has ended.
Pokémon Day bonuses for UNITE players
Just for logging into Pokémon unite during the Pokémon Day festivities, players will be rewarded with daily bonuses. As announced in the official Pokémon Unite news post, log in for the first time during the event dates, and you’ll receive an event-exclusive T-shirt for your Unite avatar. Log in a second time, and you’ll get the cap to match!
When is the Full-Fury event taking place in Pokémon UNITE?
The two-week Pokémon Day celebratory event will take place in Pokémon Unite between February 24th and March 11th, 2022.
Hoopa is unleashed in Pokémon UNITE
The latest character to make its Pokémon Unite debut has shocked everyone, as Hoopa makes an unexpected appearance for Pokémon Day. Taking a look at the comments on the announcement video below, you can see that fans were not expecting the Mischief Pokémon to come to Unite, but are pleasantly surprised by the new arrival.
