Pokémon Go loading screens are always hinting at what’s to come in the game, and 2021’s Christmas loading screen is here, featuring a Pokémon not currently available in game.

An adorable new loading screen has appeared when you open the Pokémon Go app, ready for the Pokémon Go Holidays event later in December, 2021. A Pokémon never before seen in the game features heavily in the gorgeous artwork, more than hinting that at least two Pokémon will be introduced to the game for the first time during the event.

Bergmite comes to Pokémon Go

We can go as far as to say that this is not just a rumor or a hint at this point. Pokémon Go loading screens are always foretelling upcoming events, with the recent Season of Mischief being just one example. Hoopa was added to the last loading screen briefly before the announcement that the Mischief Pokémon would be coming to the mobile game. As such, we can safely assume that Bergmite, along with its evolved form Avalugg, will be available as part of the Pokémon Go Holidays event.

The adorable wintery loading screen features a looming Beartic, his arms full of holiday gifts, bestowing them upon smaller Pokémon such as Chespin and Swinub. Over to the right, Bergmite looks on from the top of a rock. Bergmite isn’t available in Pokémon Go yet, but we can now assume that the Ice Chunk Pokémon will be coming to the game as of December 16th.

When is the Pokémon Go Holidays event?

The Pokémon Go Holidays event will begin on December 16th, 2021, and will run until December 31st. That is currently all we know about the event, though, and that it will likely launch Bergmite and Avalugg. There will be more costumed Pokémon, new avatar items and event-themed Field Research, but what they are specifically remains a secret for now.
