While Vanguard and Warzone are the current season’s CoD titles, it appears many are looking forward to leaks and new information on upcoming titles. As it stands, it seems clear thanks to Tom Hendersen’s sources the next CoD game is more than likely some form of Modern Warfare 2, similar to the 2019 Modern Warframe style. However, there are even more leaks surfacing looking further ahead than in 2022. There’s potential the CoD 2023 release will be a classic inspired Black Ops title.

In a recent image dump posted on Imgur and Reddit, it appears that we may have an unconfirmed first look at CoD 2023. From the heavily blurred images of the design philosophy to screenshots of a classic CoD UI, map, and other in-game features.

CoD 2032 leaks – Classic inspirations and contradictions

While these images confirm there seems to be some form of prototype CoD game in the works, there are some interesting features. One of the images links to a Zombies faction feature, which could be the hangover from Black Ops 4. Black Ops 4 was supposed to have a faction feature, adding to the storyline and gameplay elements. However, that was never launched and was delayed perpetually, and it didn’t even get mentioned for Cold War. At this point, it feels unlikely it is a feature coming to a CoD title, but we shall remain and see.

The other interesting part of the leaks is blurry screenshots of the phrase, ‘classic’. It has become apparent that many fans are not happy with the direction of the recent CoD’s, especially Vanguard’s recent reception. So, perhaps CoD 2023 is getting its influence from the classical CoD 4 – Blops 1 era? It’s hard to tell, especially without anything official on the matter. Also, if the game is classic inspired, then why would they add a whole new faction feature? Seems rather contradictory, don’t you think?

Lastly, it’s worth noting there’s a new difficulty in the CoD Campaign settings. Are the CoD studios putting more emphasis on the CoD campaigns? A classic design philosophy could certainly influence that decision process since CoD 4, MW2 and Black Ops 1 all had fairly engaging stories – at least in WePC’s opinion at any rate.

Once again, we’d like to clarify these CoD 2023 leaks are up in the air. Leaks don’t normally air this early, not to mention the original Reddit user who posted them has since deleted their account. So, please take these leaks with a handful of salt, never mind a pinch. What are your thoughts on a potential classic design philosophy or zombie factions? Let us know in the comments?
