Segotep is a Chinese power supply maker that isn’t particularly big in the PSU market. However, it has previously partnered with the popular Asian GPU brand, Colorful, which appears to have shared some insider information with Segotep.

In a recent social media appearance, the company addressed a user query, stating; the rumors about the RTX 5090 featuring dual 16-pin connectors are false and the specs received suggest otherwise, ending the comment with, “See you in January.”
Segotep denies rumors regarding the RTX 5090 featuring dual 16-pin connectors
One of the users on Bilibili (a Chinese video-sharing platform) asked an interesting question regarding Segotep’s latest power supplies, wondering if they might feature dual 16-pin connectors, given that the RTX 5090 is rumored to have them. The power supply makers responded to the user by saying that “there is no such possibility” and even told them not to worry as they have already seen the specs for the RTX 5090.
User: The 1300W power supply is sold for 1600. Can’t it have two 16-pin connectors?
What if the 5090 requires dual 16-pin connectors?
Segotep: Don’t worry, we’ve already got the data for the 5090. There’s no such
possibility, see you in January.
This brief comment from Segotep not only denies the ongoing rumors about the RTX 5090 featuring dual 16-pin connectors but also claims that the RTX 5090 will arrive at CES 2025 in January, just as we suspected. Segotep has previously collaborated with Colorful’s subsidiary, Colofire, on a MEOW-themed PC, and we believe they are once again working on a next-gen system that will feature a MEOW RTX 50. This makes sense as it could explain how the company got access to early data for the RTX 5090.

Segotep’s response seems a bit too confident, and while we aren’t certain if a January launch is confirmed, recent rumors on Chinese board channels regarding the RTX 5090 release dates along with other models align with Segotep’s information. If multiple sources are claiming we will see the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 at CES 2025, it might very well be the case.
